History
Gérard Michaud founded Covimex in 1990. Over the years, he successfully developed and fine-tuned certain aspects related to the manufacturing of corrugated cardboard. His expertise is widely recognized when it comes to the maintenance, preventative servicing, consulting and technical installation of corrugator belts and lagging material, considered key pieces of equipment in the manufacturing of corrugated cardboard.
With more than 35 years experience in the industry, Mr. Michaud has identified certain industry gaps in the steps to producing quality cardboard. The result of his findings: the development of two new procedures, including one that refurbishes used corrugator belts. This has resulted in major savings in production costs for cardboard manufacturers.
Covimex International holds two patents that could be marketed internationally. They include the refurbishing of used corrugator belts and the Flexobelt (flexo-folder-gluer) – two key pieces of equipment in the production of cardboard boxes.
